Tinubu Appointed Okun And Two Other DCG Customs Officer

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Festus Okun as deputy chief accountant of the Nigerian Customs Service.

His two DCGs nominated besides Okun were his two, Musa Baba Musa and Albashir Hamisu. According to information obtained by Vanguard.

Mr. Abdullahi Mywada (CSC), the service’s National Public Relations Manager, said in a statement this morning.

Newly he has three Assistant Auditors General (ACG) appointed on an equal basis. Among them were Kamaludine Olmo, Awal Baba Mohammed and Adeogun Arajogun.

The new customs leadership took office following President Tinub’s appointment of Adewale Adeniiyi as interim auditor general on June 19.

“Deputy Customs Commissioner Bashir Adewale Adeni thanked the retired leadership members for their valuable service and congratulated the newly appointed officers to ensure the highest standards of service in the revenue generating duties fulfilled. I called on them to redouble their efforts to achieve the goal of achieving a successful crackdown on smuggling. and trade facilitation,” part of the statement said.

CG reviewed the execution strategy

Meanwhile, CG said the government is reviewing its customs enforcement strategy and streamlining its structure.

The evaluation was initiated to improve the effectiveness of the enforcement strategy, he said.

He made the announcement during a meeting with the Chief of Patrol of the Federal Task Force in Area “A” after completing initial visits to several Area Command posts and other customs organizations in Zone “A.” .
