The Tottenham striker Ivan Perisic should lose the rest of the Premier League season after suffering a serious knee injury in training.

On Wednesday Spurs confirmed that Croatia International had undergone a “complex for the front cruciate ligament” in the right knee. Perisic played a key role outside the bench in the dramatic 2-1 victory of Tottenham over Sheffield United last weekend, but the severity of his injury could mean that it is his last appearance for the club. The 34 -year -old is out of contract at the end of the season.

“Croatia International expert has suffered contact injury without contact and will undergo an operation,” the club said in a note.

“Therefore, Ivan will begin his rehabilitation with our medical staff and must be reserved for the rest of the season.

Rodrigo Bentancur is currently outside with an ACL injury immediately in February and should not be available for Ange Postecoglou until November.
