Despite the controversy that led to the removal of crude oil subsidy, the president of the APC political party in this country, Abdullahi Ganduje is optimistic about the ability of President Bola Tinubu to restore the economic system of this country for the advancement of the people.
He spoke in Abuja while hosting the South-West Agenda for Progress (SWAGA) program led by Senator Dayo Adeyey.
Ganduje told the group at the APC national headquarters that Tinubu has reformed all the social issues that will take Nigeria to the next level.
“We believe that Leadership is up to the task. He will reform our system, reform the administrative system, reform the institutions, reform the economy, and all other social issues that will take Nigeria to the next level,” he said at the event on Thursday.
The party is in Abuja to provide support to the leaders of the APC party under the former governor of Kano State.
Wizkid Lost His Mum
Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, the mother of Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, also known as Wizkid, has passed away.
The mother of three died around 1:30 a.m. on Friday.
Wizkid’s manager, Sunday Are, confirmed the incident to the media on Friday, he said; “Yes, he died this morning, around 1:30 in the morning.”
Fans have been taking to social media platforms to offer their condolences to the singer and his family since the news broke online.
The Banking Industry Recorded 9.5 Billion Losses From Electronic Fraud In Five Years – CBN
Central of Nigeria, CBN said that electronic fraud accumulated within the financial sector has led to a loss of N9.5 billion in 2023.
The Director of Payment System of the CBN, Musa Jimoh, made the announcement on Friday at the third quarterly general meeting of the Nigeria Electronic Fraud Forum, NeFF.
He said that between 2019 and 2023, electronic fraud losses have increased from N3 billion to N9.5 billion in five years.
Jimoh, who is also the chairman of NeFF, said that if electronic fraud is not nipped in the bud, the threat will attack the country’s banking sector.
He emphasized the need for banks, financial institutions, and other industry players to secure their operations in the digital environment.
“Today we are here to continue that conversation and look at new strategies that will help us fight e-fraud. If we don’t fight cyber criminals, they will bring us down and disrupt the whole system.
“For fraud trends in the past five years, we are looking at about N3 billion in 2019, and now we are looking at about N9.5 billion in 2023. Fraud losses have increased significantly in the last five years,” he tell.
