The announcement was made during Thursday’s plenary session, when Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the names in the letter.

In response to this development, Mr. Kenneth Okonkwo took to his official Twitter account tonight to express his thoughts. He claims to find nothing exceptional in the ministerial list sent by Tinubu to the Senate. He criticized the time it took to compile the list, noting that it shouldn’t have taken him more than a day, but the process apparently took two months.

Mr. Okonkwo expressed his surprise and questioned the reasons for the long delay in publishing the list. He invites the public to judge the contents of the list for themselves, implying that it lacks substance or innovative choices. In his tweet, he directly criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, calling it “anti-people” and suggesting it negatively affects Nigeria. He has even gone so far as to suggest that the party should be “exorcised” from the country, perhaps due to their dissatisfaction with their government.

This news has undoubtedly sparked discussion among Nigerians as many may have different views on the appointment of the 28 people to ministerial posts. How the Senate will deliberate and make decisions about candidates remains to be seen, especially in light of the criticism and public scrutiny the slate has already faced.

The tweet reads,

“Now that the ministerial list is out, you can judge for yourself whether we were right. My surprise is why wait two months to publish this list? APC is possessed and must be exorcised from Nigeria.”
